ActioNet Awarded IRS Disaster Recovery, Testing, and Business Analysis (DRTBA) SQL Database Enhancement and Expansion

ActioNet, Inc. has been awarded a task order by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to support the agency to determine prioritization through data centricity of Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Information System Contingency Plan (ISCP) testing data, identify the most critical business processes and systems using data analytics, and create a risk mitigation strategy to ensure continuity of service. In addition, IRS is looking to ActioNet to automate some or all of the processes and templates in the ISCP Testing Process. To accomplish this, ActioNet will perform updates and maintenance on the BIA SQL database and Business Objects Environment (BOE) Universe and Reporting basic foundation. ActioNet will also assist the IRS in the creation of an Interdependency Analysis of business processes and information systems and applications using all of the data that has been collected in the SQL database.

The DRTBA organization operates as a program under the Security Controls Testing and Evaluation (SCTE) within the Security Risk Management (SRM) organization. The DRTBA staff is responsible for adhering to Internal Revenue Manuals (IRMs), Information Technology (IT) Security, Policy and Guidance, Information Technology (IT) Security, IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM) Policy and Guidance, Information Systems Contingency Plan (ISCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) Testing, Training and Exercise (TT&E) Program, and performing the roles attributed to DRTBA in the IRMs. Additionally, in compliance with the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), IRS is mandated with all other Federal Departments, Agencies, and Bureaus to report on the security state of its Information Systems. IRS is also required to prioritize the recoverability of information systems for the purpose of ensuring service continuity for the most critical business processes and the highest rated systems.
