June 2014

ActioNet collected over ten 30-gallon bags of usable clothing during its Purple Heart campaign 21 March through 30 April 2014. Through the sale of contributions, The Purple Heart Foundation (PHF) funds programs and services for all veterans and their families.  Through grants and outreach programs, PHF lends support to other organizations whose programs align with their mission and make smaller, direct contributions for veterans facing exceptionally difficult financial challenges.

Since 2008, The Purple Heart Foundation has invested more than $42 million in its efforts; helped more than 105,760 veterans get their claims approved; and awarded more than $1,479,550,766 from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).  Each year, 1,444 volunteers give more than 160,666 dedicated hours which translate to $3,556,083 in savings to the US Department of Veterans Affairs and taxpayers.

In combat, warriors count on their comrades to have their backs.  Yet when they return home, when they face new and daunting challenges – emotional, medical, financial and more – who is there for them?  Who has their backs?  We All Do.

This was a great opportunity to help fund the programs and services that give all veterans the homecoming they deserve.
