On Wednesday, June 19, a group of dedicated ActioNeters volunteered their time and energy at Food and Friends, marking our fourth service occasion with this remarkable organization. Food and Friends stands out as the sole community-based organization in the D.C. region that delivers medically tailored meals and provides medical nutrition therapy to our neighbors battling cancer, HIV/AIDS, and other serious illnesses.
Their work is not just about delivering meals; it’s about providing a lifeline to our community’s most vulnerable. It’s about giving hope and extending a helping hand to those who need it most.
ActioNeters and their families prepared and delivered specially tailored meals to satisfy the nutritional needs of community members. We sorted, prepared, and packaged meals and goods in the facility kitchen. Each day, around 4,000 meals are served to customers. It was a great moment for the ActioNet Family to unite and undertake community service.
