The ActioNet Defense Programs Business Unit (DPBU) represented the company at the 2018 AFCEA TechNet Asia-Pacific Conference and Exposition in Honolulu, Hawaii held at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki. The 3-day event was a big success for ActioNet. Overall attendance was 20% higher than 2017. A key focus area was enabling technologies to improve cyber operations. It was an excellent venue to meet with our customers and prospects outside of their normal work environment to discuss their challenges and 2019 initiatives.

Cyber Is at the Heart of Indo-Pacific Command Strategy. Across the Indo-Pacific region, all roads lead to cyber, according to a panel of U.S. and foreign military and civilian experts speaking on the final day of AFCEA’s TechNet Asia-Pacific 2018. Our adversaries are leveraging cyberspace to conduct operations below the threshold of conflict and we need to adjust to that specifically in a cyber-environment. Moving forward, space and cyber will be an essential part of any multinational activity therefore we must design networks that allow us to be interoperable with our allies and partners.
TechNet Asia-Pacific, now in its 33rd year, is co-sponsored by AFCEA International and AFCEA Hawaii. It is the largest event in the Pacific Rim focusing on regional defense issues. Keynote speakers, panel moderators and panelists discussed defense policies and challenges in the Asia-Pacific region and their relevance to both Industry and Government. Industry exhibitors demonstrated products and solutions to meet the Services’ requirements and needs.
