When ActioNet ordered adult coloring books as a marketing give away, my first thought was the books will not be well received. What I didn’t know was that coloring books for adults have become the latest trend, and coloring was actually good for relieving stress.
Coloring is a meditative activity that allows you to forget your worries and live in the moment which is a critical in our demanding world. Coloring trains your brain to focus and helps your fine motor skills and vision. Coloring involves logic and creativity when mixing and matching colors. I’m sure it won’t be long before coloring books will be viewed just as therapeutic as crosswords puzzles.
Your coloring book is your coloring book. It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks of it, and you don’t have to show it to anyone else if you don’t want to.
At the end of the day, coloring is good for you because it is fun. I enjoy coloring with my 5 year old granddaughter, and now I will invest in buying a coloring book of my own. So seriously, why aren’t you coloring yet?!
