This year’s exciting Tech Center ActioNet Summer Picnic was held on the boardwalk in Ocean City, NJ on Saturday, August 17th. We began the festivities with a fabulous lunch at Prep’s Pizza and Dairy Bar. Everyone enjoyed digging into the handmade pizzas, and luckily we all made room for a great ice cream dessert. Founder, Chairman & CEO Ashley Chen joined in by diving into a banana split that was bigger than her! After everyone’s bellies were full, Ashley and President & CAO Jeffrey Abish raffled off numerous gift cards to local businesses, including Wawa and Shop Rite.
Afterwards we walked down the boardwalk a couple blocks to Playland’s Castaway Cove where there were rides for every age, from bumper cars to the log flume. There was even a fun house for ActioNeters and their families to enjoy. The sun was shining and all enjoyed the park until the sun went down!
To finish off our day of camaraderie we also introduced Ashley to some local staples. Many suggested some fresh New Jersey farm stands for Ashley to visit. Afterward she ended up at Joe’s Garden Center where she purchased some fresh produce. She left with corn, peaches, watermelon and famous New Jersey tomatoes at our recommendation.
It was nice to meet coworkers’ families and spend a fun filled day outside of the office. After a year of hard work, it is great to play hard with all of my fellow ActioNeters!
