CAPT Mel Yokoyama, USN (Ret.), President and Co-Founder of DecisiveInstincts, was selected to serve as the sole industry panelist for the session, “How Small Businesses Will Add Value to the PACOM Region and Deliver Capabilities at Speed” on Tuesday, October 22nd, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM HST at the Honolulu Convention Center.
The DoD panelists joining the session are Robert Wolborsky, Chief Engineer at Naval Information Warfare Systems Command; Robert Sholtis, Chief Information Officer for U.S. Marine Forces Pacific; and Julie Weinstein, Command Information Officer at Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Hawaii. Panelists discussed their operational environments, priorities, and challenges, and address key questions about leveraging small business innovation in areas such as fleet readiness, autonomous systems, distributed maritime operations, expeditionary advanced base operations, and cybersecurity. “I am honored to represent the small business community on-stage with these distinguished panelists,” Yokoyama stated. “Given the 40% decline in the defense industrial base’s small businesses, it is essential to fortify our nation’s supply chain by empowering agile companies to sustain and enhance defense capabilities in this critical region.”
