ActioNet, Inc. Awarded EOP II Contracts in Three Functional Areas

January 14, 2004
Fairfax, VA

ActioNet announced today that it has been awarded five-year contracts in three Information Technology (IT) Functional Areas under the Energy Information Administration Omnibus II (EOP II) Procurement with a combined ceiling of over $38M. These Functional Areas included Facilities Management, Network, Help Desk, Software Development and Database Administration. ActioNet was also part of a winning team for the Information Management and Product Production Functional Area.

ActioNet’s President, Ashley W. Chen, first approached EIA in 2000 with a plan to better leverage existing IT investments and brought in seasoned staff to put this plan in motion. Chen said, “Our talented and hard working team members believe in exceeding customer expectations and never settle for being second best”. ActioNet was one of the first companies to develop and deploy multi-tiered Web applications with all tiers residing on the same physical IBM Enterprise Server.

About EIA and EOP II

The Energy Information Administration (EIA), created by Congress in 1977, is a statistical agency of the U.S. Department of Energy. EIA provides policy-independent data, forecasts, and analyses to promote sound policy making, efficient markets, and public understanding regarding energy and its interaction with the economy and the environment. The EOP II is a consolidation of computer, management and technical support services required by the individual programs under EIA.
