ActioNeters Supporting Cyberspace

By Jonathan M.

ActioNet staff recently supported the transition of an USAF weapon system supporting Cyberspace Protection Team (CPT) in Port San Antonio to a new location on Joint Base San Antonio (San Antonio, Texas). At different two locations, the ActioNet team supported Deployable, Garrison and Mobile Platforms, transitioned operations while performing daily operations, including Periodic Maintenance Inspections (PMIs) and Operating System support. The simultaneous maintenance operations were absolutely seamless—enabling continued cyberspace support to CPT’s performing worldwide.

Spirits are lifted. Typically, maintenance workspace is extremely limited and cramped within the USAF. Therefore, everyone is extremely pleased and has welcomed the new location that is open and has plenty of work space. Our maintainers now have a Back Shop dedicated to maintenance operations with work benches, storage and racks to support server, sensor and laptop mission support kits simultaneously. In addition to the Back Shop, each maintainer has a dedicated area to check e-mail, search the Internet, make phone calls, and perform other administrative functions.

Although moves are often both challenging and undesirable, the ActioNet team was able to withstand power and connectivity hiccups and pull together effectively to enable cyberspace operators to continue operations and make a difference in cyberspace. Way to go, ActioNeters!
